1 Peter 5:7 says Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you. I have worried about so many things in my life, that I wish I would be able to do this more often, just leave it at his feet, instead of always taking it back. Just give it to God, and not worry about as much as I do, though sometimes we take it back, and worrying about it again. Why do we need to take it back from God, once we have already given it to him? I used to be so concerned about college, and how I would make it through college, but in the end, I made it. Their was a time when I first started community college that I would worry about my classes, tests, homework, etc, that I would get sick at night, yet God brought me to the Chi Alpha Christian Group on the Campus. From that point on, I was no longer sick, why because I prayed, and he brought me a group of men and woman of God, that He knew would help, and encourage me to make it through. Now not only did I have my parent’s I had friends as well. One of them, I am still friends with to this day. Some of you may have already graduated, and are like how am I going to pay back those loans, I have to much money to pay back, I won’t be able to do it, yet God says I will supply all your needs. I pray and think often about the woman of God that He has for me, and I believe that He has that woman of God out their for me. Yet I worry will I find her, will I find the love of my life, hopefully it’s in His will, but I believe it is a Promise for my life. I want to share something that I read today in my devotional, about “outsourcing” our worries.
“AJ Jacobs, editor-at-large at Esquire magazine, shares an anecdote about outsourcing that will make you re-think what you should and shouldn’t do with your time. This excerpt is from his blog titled “My Outsourced Life,” an Esquire feature found on their website. AJ had been outsourcing many of his menial tasks to his virtual assistant named Honey. She writes his emails for him among other things. This time, he decides to outsource something else. “Whatever the reason, I figure it’s time to conquer another frontier: outsourcing my inner life… I decided I needed to outsource my worry. For the last few weeks I’ve been tearing my hair out because a business deal is taking far too long to close. I asked Honey if she would be interested in tearing her hair out in my stead. Just for a few minutes a day. She thought it was a wonderful idea. ‘I will worry about this every day,’ she wrote. ‘Do not worry.’ The outsourcing of my neuroses was one of the most successful experiments of the month. Every time I started to ruminate, I’d remind myself that Honey was already on the case, and I’d relax. No joke–this alone was worth the $1,000.”
Now you may say that this was nice, but in the end, I hope that you get the point of this, we can tell everyone that is around us, about out troubles, worries, fears, concerns, but they can’t do a thing about them, but Jesus can. Jesus can take all our worries, and handle them on his own. Just like AJ Jacobs assistant, once he handed a task off to her, he didn’t have to worry about it anymore, because he knew that she would handle it, and take care of it. Although we can do the same thing with Jesus. He is much more than just handing our fears and concerns over to him, He is King of Kings and lords of Lords. He gives a peace which surpasses all understanding when we are anxious, Philippians 4:6. God for all of my friends, that read this, and are anxious and have concerns, allow them to read this, and help it to remind them to go to you, and ask you to help them with their concerns, and late it all out at your feet. God your will be done in our lives.
