Today, is good Friday, and most if not all Christians, now what Good Friday, represents. It’s the day we Christians believe that Christ was crucified. Though I have always wondered, why do they call it good. how was it good, to see your son, your friend, your savior, getting beaten, whipped, mocked, and eventually nailed to the cross. What was going through the minds of those that watched, why didn’t any of his disciples stop him. Those that were killing him, thought that he was a demon, thought that he was mocking God, yet no one stopped him. Not even his own mother tried to stop them from killing her son.
Quote by Mark Lowry “He said, “I and the Father are One.” and they crucified Him. And his mother never opened her mouth! Do you realize if I was being crucified in my hometown for claiming to be God my mother would be pitching a fit?!? She’d say, “He’s crazy, but don’t kill him! He’s a liar, but don’t kill him! He’s a lunatic, but don’t kill him!” But the silence of Mary at the cross is such a great testimony of the fact of who Jesus is”.
It’s called good Friday, because three days later, Jesus Rose from the dead, what no one else thought He would do, because they thought that He was crazy, insane, nuts, or whatever else people were calling him back than. He rose again on the third day, Mary Magadeline went to the tomb, but she found the tomb that was empty.
Mark 16: 16 1 The Sabbath day ended. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices. They were going to use them for Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, they were on their way to the tomb. It was just after sunrise. 3 They asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb?”
4 Then they looked up and saw that the stone had been rolled away. The stone was very large. 5 They entered the tomb. As they did, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe. He was sitting on the right side. They were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. But he has risen! He is not here! See the place where they had put him. 7 Go! Tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. It will be just as he told you.’ ”
8 The women were shaking and confused. They went out and ran away from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
It’s called good Friday, because even know our Lord and Savior, was Crucified, and killed, three days later, He rose again. Jesus died for you and me, for the forgiveness of sins, so that we could have everlasting life.
