Life Is Futile

I was reminded of something this weekend, that life is very fleeting, we think and for the most part we will live a long and health life.  For most of us that is true, though their are times that something tragic will happen, and a life will be taken from us.  We sometimes wonder why that will happen, why would God allow a life to be taken away from us in a sudden unexpected moment.  The answer that I have to that question is I don’t know, though I do know that in the end God has a reason for it and will work it out in the end.  Romans 8:28 says And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love him who are called according to his purpose.  I have often wondered why would God allow my Mom, and my sister to suddenly pass away.  The husband of my friend Leah Oliver Reed, is probably asking the same question himself this week, after losing his wife to a tragic car accident.  Although I did not know him personally I did know Leah for several years during my college career at VFCC.  From what I have seen on facebook and remember she was very joyful, always happy in life, had a great voice on the worship and choir.  She would be friends with anyone that walked into her life.

In Ecclesiastes it says 3 For everything there is a season, and la time for every matter under heaven: 2  a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3  a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4  a time to nweep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to pcast away stones, and a time to qgather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to rrefrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7  a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to vkeep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. In life their is a season for everything, in whatever season of life you are in, know that life is very short, love those around you today, because you never know what will happen tomorrow.  Although when someone we love passes away, we know that when they have a relationship with Christ, that we will see them once again.  One day with those that have gone ahead of us, we will sing with them again.  When it comes to Leah, we will sing with her when we get to Heaven.
