I think we have all heard the saying we need to wait on God, or we need to wait for God’s timing. Though what exactly does that mean, how exactly do we wait on God’s timing, and when do we know when exactly it is God’s timing. Maybe you were waiting for the new job during this season, or perhaps you were waiting for the wedding day, and because of the pandemic that we are going through, you had to wait until there was a better time to do it. Though sometimes we just have to wait, waiting is not always the easiest thing to do, we sometimes have to do things differently in life, and change the way we do things. What we can have hope in is that God is always in control; God is still an on-time God. That while we are waiting for whatever it is that we are waiting for is not easy. God is planning it all out in his timing and in his way for our lives.
Psalms 37:4-7 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord: trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him..”
We need to know that if we delight ourselves in God, He will give us the desires of our hearts. To delight means to pursue him and exalt him above everyone else. We must realize that we will face trials and difficult seasons in our lives, and during these times, we also need to trust in him. During this time that we are in, it may be hard to believe in God. Because of what is going on. We will trust in him, up until the point of where his plans do not line up, to where we think his plans should be in our lives. For example, our schedules may be thrown off, our jobs, maybe lost, or we may have to work from home. We may not be able to go out as often as we would like because there is a deadly virus that is going on outside of our homes. Though with all that we are going through, we just need to wait patiently and know that God will work out all things together for those that love God. Romans 8:28. In these difficult situations, we must wait on God for the answers that we are waiting for, and just wait patiently for the next season of our lives, and know that God has a great plan and purpose for our lives, regardless of what we are going through.
It’s not only this season of our lives that we will have to wait on God, but there will also be other times in our lives that we will wait on God, as well. Though just know that you’re not alone, we have to all wait on God in our lives, just know that in the end, God has your best interest in mind. God wants to see you do your best in your life. Be encouraged that this season of life that we are all calling COVID-19 will be over at some point and that God has you in the palm of his hands, and will see you through this time in our lives.
